We are working towards being a church where children and young people will know they are always welcome.
Worshipping together across different age groups, personality types, learning styles, and backgrounds can be a delight and a challenge in equal measure. We worship together because God calls us together — to learn from each other, to enjoy each other’s company, to find God in one another, and to grow in Christ’s image.
Across the group, there are a number of Family Services that might be a good starting point for those who are new to church. These services a bit shorter and a bit more informal, and there is usually no communion. Please see What’s On for the schedule.
In Waltham, we are developing work with children through a series of events called Create — All Age Crafts, Story and Song. The Choir is also a place where children flourish, and where young people find caring friends and mentors as they navigate the joys and strains of growing up.
In Waltham and New Waltham, there are several groups of Rainbows, Brownies and Guides who come to church for key celebrations throughout the year. We also work with several of the local schools — especially in East Ravendale, at St Martin’s Church of England Primary School.
If you would like to get involved with our children’s work or help us explore the way forward so that all children will know they are welcome — please do come to a service and speak with the clergy afterwards, or get in touch using the form below.
