Barnoldby le Beck – The Church of St Helen

St. Helen’s is a Celebration church, which means that worship is currently very occasional, and is used for celebrations by arrangement.

Milestone Moment

Tuesday 28th April marked a truly significant milestone for St Helen’s. It was the official formation of her Parochial Church Council (PCC)

As such, St Helens is now fully established, with an official Church Warden and PCC for governance and ministry, AND our FOSH group to support with the church maintenance, fabric and upkeep. While we may be small in number, we are absolutely mighty in spirit, commitment, and purpose.

This moment represents the final piece of the puzzle in securing the immediate future of St Helen’s and protecting it from imminent closure. The PCC will work to change St Helens grading from a category 5 church (marked for closure) to a category 4 festival church

It’s a testament to the dedication, resilience, and care of everyone who has stood by and supported this church and believed in its importance to our community. A huge thank-you to so many.

However, we are not about to slow down. There is still a lot of work ahead, but today we celebrate progress, strength, and hope. St Helen’s is moving forward ….together.

Thank you to everyone who has played a part in getting us here.

In Spring, the churchyard is filled with the most spectacular primroses, and it’s always worth stopping to have a walk around the grounds.

The friends of St Helens occasionally hold a coffee morning in church. see details below
