Update – 25 March.
Churches are currently closed to help keep everyone safe from the virus. We will be in touch with all wedding couples who are likely to be affected by this, to help you plan for a future date.
If you had a wedding planned for this summer, we know how stressful it is to make the necessary decisions and to try to guess what will be best. We will do all that we can to help you, and if you cannot have the big celebration you were planning now, we will work with you to find another date.
You can still get married. It’s just that instead of having a big party, it needs to be very simple: the bride, the groom, the priest, and two witnesses.
We know this isn’t what you’ve been planning, but there are many reasons that seeing through your intention to marry might be a good thing right now — not least, to make your vows to the one you love as one certainty in a world that feels precarious.
If you choose to make your vows now, you are most welcome to come back for a renewal of vows and big celebration later, once we are free to gather large crowds.
We have already begun speaking with couples by phone, and are setting up a series of Zoom meetings for wedding couples. Please keep an eye on your emails and on the web page for more Zoom dates as they arrive.
